English subtitles made by Alec McLure and Philip:
[Girl looking at keyboard]
[Switch to anchor man in TV studio]
Anchorman: That’s great, isn’t it?
Ladies and gentleman, we also have three children, (listen carefully) from a rural home in Florida, who revolutionized their home with the Ceibal Plan computers.
[Scene switches to girl walking in front of sign that says “Cardal – Capital of the Milk Region”]
The Machín family lives off their plot They have 20 cows that produce 170 liters of milk a day. In 2000, they had 40 cows.
Alejandro and his wife are parents of three children that go to the same public school. She’s a teacher, but she prefers to help her husband and take care of the house and children.
Mother: The truth is that the computers have been something spectacular for our home. It provides a world of new experiences that’s amazing given their age.
Reporter: This plan has been criticized. What do you think?
Mother: No, I think it’s good. Like anything new, there’s always criticism. I think it’s too soon to criticize it without giving it a chance to see what happens.
Father: They’ve shown an interest, particularly in taking care of the computer. They’ve shown an interest that frankly sometimes goes further than we can. At this point, they are actually teaching us.
[Boy giving pointers on the program to his sister] …if there is no positive one, then [presses on keyboard]

I’m becoming more engrossed by the minute - fascinating for a retired teacher to see. Hoping to turn the enthusiasm into action as soon as my education re olpc has taken root!
